Highlands at Fisher Mountain Golf Club in Franklin, WVA seeks Superintendent

Highlands at Fisher Mountain Golf Club has an immediate opening for a Superintendent position. Candidates must be self-starting, creative, highly motivated and able to work independently while managing time and personnel. Two years’ experience required; experience may be either as a head superintendent or an assistant superintendent.

Qualifications:

• Pesticide license
• Knowledge of computer and remote irrigation
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of chemicals used in turf management
• Able to diagnose and repair irrigation
• Problem solving ability
• Some knowledge of and ability to repair equipment
• Working knowledge of the theory and care of reel and bed knife grinding preferred

The superintendent will be expected to lead day-to-day operations, overseeing and managing the entire maintenance compound with organization, safety and a clean working environment. This will include planning, executing projects, budgeting, implementing cultural practices, moisture management, pesticide application, and developing staff. Must be flexible and with the ability to visually inspect golf course conditions and translate that to adjustments within role and equipment. Must be detail oriented, efficient, and able to set high standards of quality and accuracy along with good organization, time management and prioritization skills.

Salary - $50,000 From March – February.
